Currently, a randomized, controlled clinical trial is underway, specifically studying the effectiveness of MERIT for persons with Schizophrenia. More information here.

Results of multiple trials are needed to explore the effectiveness of the MERIT intervention. Future research is also needed to understand the applicability and generalizability of MERIT across different settings.For example, we need to learn more about how the various dimensions of metacognition may co-vary during the course of clinical improvement, how they are associated with psychosis and residual symptoms, and what might accelerate and consolidate gains in metacognitive functioning.

Multi-site and international collaborators are under recruitment for investigations into MERIT therapy. Our main focus is on schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, but also other psychotic disorders. Please contact us if you're interested in learning more.
