
Paul Lysaker Metacognition Research Award
The Paul Lysaker Metacognition Research Award is funded by the MERIT Institute to promote research on metacognition, MERIT, serious mental illness, and recovery.

Research Awards will grant up to $5,000 to a MERIT Institute member to conduct a study relevant to MERIT or metacognition.

Travel Awards will grant up to $1,000 to a MERIT Institute member to travel to a conference where they are presenting on MERIT or metacognition-related research.
All MERIT Institute members are eligible to apply for Research and
Travel Awards. If you are not already a member, you can apply for MERIT Institute membership at the time of your grant submission.
Research Grant Requirements

3-page maximum proposal including specific aims, methods, future directions, timeline, and proposed budget

IRB approval required in order for funds to be disbursed.
Travel Grant Requirements:

1 page maximum application including the conference abstract and brief sections describing the conference, proposing a budget, and explaining relevance to the MERIT Institute.

Applications will be considered for abstracts that have not yet been accepted but presentation of research at a conference is required for the disbursement of travel funds.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and should be sent to Kyle Minor.
